Celebrating Mental Health Day
at Avnet

Avnet's commitment to employee well-being extends beyond work performance. In October 2024, we organized a series of mental health initiatives across various of our offices in Asia Pacific to promote emotional health and stress management.

Taiwan

Avnet Taiwan hosted a heartwarming month long activity, "Sending Your Love," to foster meaningful connections and promote positive mental health among our employees.

From Oct 28 to Nov 28, employees were encouraged to express their gratitude and appreciation by writing heartfelt messages on thank-you cards. These messages were then shared with and publicly displayed, and handmade gifts from the Syin-Lu Social Welfare Foundation were delivered to recipients.

Robert Chang, Director, Field Application: "This event provided a wonderful opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to my teammates. It was a heartwarming experience to see the positive impact of a simple act of kindness."

Chloe Chiu, Senior Manager, Talent Management & Training: "Receiving heartfelt messages from my colleagues was truly uplifting. It reminded me of the importance of gratitude and the power of human connection."

China – Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing

Avnet's China offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing also prioritized employee well-being by organizing a series of engaging activities. These included mindfulness and stress management workshops, interactive wellness games, and health and wellness workshops and shoulder and neck massage sessions. A total of 136 employees participated in these initiatives, gaining valuable tools and techniques to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

Singapore

With the theme "It's time to prioritize mental health in the workplace," the Singapore office hosted a series of activities on Oct 10 aimed at promoting employee well-being and fostering a supportive work environment. The event kicked off with an invitation for employees to log off at 4 PM and participate in the mental health activities. The goal was to create a space for relaxation, reflection, and connection.

The Gratitude Bowl and Appreciation Jar encouraged employees to express gratitude to colleagues and managers. The "5 Ways to Well-Being" activity focused on improving mental health, while the "How I Feel Today" exercise promoted emotional awareness. These initiatives aimed to foster a positive work environment and enhance overall employee satisfaction.

Rest of ASEAN

About 200 employees in the other ASEAN offices including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Thailand also participated in various activities, including gratitude board exercises, and "emotion jar" initiatives. These activities aimed to foster a positive work environment, reduce stigma, and provide practical tools for managing stress and anxiety. Virtual mental health workshops led by an expert were also organized to provide valuable insights into workplace mental health, stress management, and coping strategies.

India – Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, and Hyderabad

Avnet India offices in Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, and Hyderabad took the initiative to promote positive mental health among their employees with the Wall of Happiness throughput the month of October. This activity encouraged employees to express gratitude and appreciation, fostering a positive work environment. Gratitude, a powerful tool for mental well-being, was emphasized.

Avnet's Commitment to Mental Health

Avnet is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace and understands that prioritizing mental health is essential for fostering a positive and productive work environment. These activities not only promote mental health awareness but also provide employees with practical tools and strategies for managing their well-being. By encouraging employees to take care of themselves, we can create a culture of well-being and support.
