Avnet employees in Singapore have actively participated in several community-driven events in the last quarter. From supporting the fight against cancer to helping the underprivileged, these initiatives highlight the company's continued dedication to social responsibility.
Race Against Cancer, Sep 29
Avnet Asia sponsored 57 employees to participate in the Singtel—Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer on Sep 29, contributing a total of SGD3,050 to the cause. The annual event in Singapore which offered two categories—5km and 10 km, aimed to raise funds for vital cancer support services, including treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, hospice care, screenings, and research. Not only did the event promote a healthy lifestyle, but it also fostered a sense of community among Avnet employees. Participants found the shared experience of completing the run together to be both rewarding and inspiring.
Lynn Peh, Senior Manager, HR Service Center, explained Avnet's decision to participate: "As part of our ESG initiatives and to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the Race Against Cancer, we wanted to encourage our employees to join the fight and run alongside those affected by cancer."
Amongst the participants were Tan Aik Hoon, Regional President - South Asia, Korea, and Avnet United. "This event is a great way to bring us together as an Avnet family while also supporting a worthy cause. I'm grateful for the opportunity to participate and contribute to the fight against cancer."

Collaboration with Willing Hearts, Oct 26
A dedicated group of 20 Avnet employees from the Singapore office rolled up their sleeves and joined forces with Willing Hearts to by assisting in meal preparation, packing, cleaning, and other essential tasks. From 5 to 9 am, our volunteers immersed themselves in various kitchen duties, including chopping vegetables, cooking rice, packing lunchboxes, and cleaning up after the meal preparation. The experience was both rewarding and humbling, allowing our employees to connect with the community and make a tangible difference.
