Avnet Singapore Joins the Race Against Cancer |

On September 17, 2023, 62 of our colleagues in Singapore awoke at dawn to join the Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer – A Race to Save Lives, which commenced at 7am from East Coast Park.

Our colleagues in Singapore turned up in full force to race against cancer

Running for Lives
The sporting volunteers ran either 5 or 10 kilometers to raise funds for the various worthy programs and services of the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). These include SCS Cancer Care Fund, SCS Cancer Rehabilitation Centre, SCS Cancer Treatment Fund, SCS Help the Children and Youth Program, and the SCS Welfare Aid. From life-saving treatment to compassionate end-of-life hospice care, SCS accompanies cancer patients and their families on all their journeys.
“Cancer can strike anyone, and has impacted almost everyone,” said Tan Aik Hoon, regional president, South Asia, Korea and Avnet United after the race. “I salute the Singapore Cancer Society for their good work, and I thank all of my colleagues who ran their hearts out for a cause that is so close to all of our hearts.”
Avnet Singapore sponsored the registration fees of all participants as part of its ongoing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts.
