After joining Avnet India in 2001, Debasis rose through the ranks from Product Manager to Marketing Manager to his current position of Associate Marketing Director. In 2020, he became the first person from the electronic components industry to make it to Forbes’ prestigious list of the ‘Top 100 Greatest People Managers in India’. No doubt it was his inclusive managerial style that got him included in the honor roll.

For Debasis, managing people means giving every team member a fair go. In many ways, he is the living embodiment of our corporate value of inclusiveness.
“Every week, I empower a different team member to lead the discussion in our weekly review meetings. During these meetings, I make sure that everyone gets a chance to have a say and share their point of view,” explained Debasis. “I also value and respect the differences among my colleagues’ cultural backgrounds, and together we happily celebrate the festivals of all faiths. In fact, it is these very differences that enrich our corporate culture and help us forge connections with customers from diverse backgrounds.”

Fanatical Foodie and Travel Junkie
When he’s not managing people and winning awards – Debasis was named Best Product Manager at Avnet India for two years in a row, in 2006 and 2007 – he’s exploring the diverse delights of international cuisines. This self-confessed “big foodie” is especially partial to Mexican and Chinese food.
Not only does Debasis love exploring the culinary world, he also loves to travel the world.
“I am a total travel junkie. I love to explore new places, meet interesting people and get to know their stories,” shared Debasis. A family man, he enjoys taking his family on beach holidays. Watching sports and comedy on television is another one of his favorite pastimes.
Big-hearted, open-minded and generous, Debasis lives our Avnet value of inclusiveness. We are proud to include him in our Faces of Avnet!
