Avnet Taiwan Ushers in a Bountiful Bunny Year

Bidding farewell to a challenging year and looking forward to a prosperous year ahead, Avnet Taiwan hosted 460 suppliers, customers, and partners at its Annual Spring Dinner in early March of this year. The gala event was held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Taipei.

Avnet’s Got Talent

A sumptuous dinner was accompanied by a program of stellar entertainment, shared via video and performed live by staff throughout the evening. The audience of employees, suppliers, partners and customers were enthralled and delighted – and occasionally doubled up with laughter.

A big party with glorious celebrations, food and fun

An especially hilarious highlight came in the form of a cameo appearance by the president of Avnet Asia Pacific and Japan, Prince Yun, dressed as a fortune teller. Using the world’s biggest predictive tool at the moment, ChatGPT, Yun Fortune Teller proved that traditional fortune telling has not lost its lustre yet. While ChatGPT can answer most questions we have in mind, being an AI tool, it is only as accurate as the data and algorithms they are based on. On the other hand, you’ll be pleased to hear that his clairvoyant alter-ego “predicted” a bright future for the semiconductor and electronics industries, based on real-time data and analysis.

Cheers to the Year of the Rabbit!

Another memorable moment was when Prince led our four regional presidents in a toast. Mike Cheng from Taiwan, Grace Dong from China, Tan Aik Hoon from South Asia, Avnet United and Korean, and Yogi Masumoto of Japan all raised their glasses to drink to the health, happiness and success of all present.

Prince spoke on behalf of everyone in attendance when he said, “What a wonderful evening! The event has once again strengthened our strong relationship and close connections with our suppliers, customers, logistical partners and bankers, as we reviewed the past year and look forward together for greater collaboration and success in the year ahead. I take this opportunity to thank our employee organizers for the excellent job they did in creating this opportunity for reflection, celebration and joyous anticipation.”

We join Prince in wishing everyone at Avnet a bumper crop of good fortune in the Year of the Rabbit. Let’s hop to it!
