Our Singapore colleague, Michael Chiang, Finance Director South is a keen road cyclist and the Treasurer of the Singapore Cycling Federation. His voluntary role as Treasurer requires him to balance the books – and strikes a healthy work-life balance, too.

Volunteering Pays Off in Honors Not Dollars
In May, Michael accompanied the Singapore National Cycling Team to represent the Five stars and Crescent Moon at the 31st South East Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam. As the senior-most Singapore official at the games, he had the honor of presenting a Silver medal to his compatriot, Luo Yi Wei, who came in second in the Women’s Individual Time event. Another team-mate, Yeo Boon Yiak, took home a Bronze in the Men’s Criterium event.
When he’s not attending regional and international cycling events, Michael actively promotes cycling at every opportunity.
“I hope to promote cycling both as a sport and lifestyle, and aim to work with local authorities on cycling road safety in Singapore,” shared Michael.
Next Stop New Delhi
By the time you’re reading this edition of The APAC Pulse, Michael has come back from the Asian Cycling Track Championship in New Delhi. With forward planning, supportive colleagues and a judicious use of his annual leave, Michael stays firmly in the saddle at work and after hours.
