YAGEO Onboards Avnet Taiwan in Supporting National Surfers |

In April 2022, Avnet Taiwan joined its valued supplier YAGEO, a global leader in the manufacture of passive electronic components, in sponsoring the local surf team YAGEO Surf.

Encouraging a Healthy Lifestyle
The sponsorship deal was inked over a lunch meeting with YAGEO, which was attended by five members of Avnet’s senior management.
“This commitment strengthens our ties with YAGEO, furthers our engagement with the local community, and encourages a healthy lifestyle that is supported by technology,” said Prince Yun, President of Avnet, Asia Pacific and Japan.

About YAGEO Surf
Formed in early 2019 and led by Australian coach Linton, YAGEO Surf boasts Taiwan’s top surfers. In its founding year, the team successfully qualified for and competed in a slew of national and international surfing events, including the 2019 KRUI PRO and the Taiwan Open.
When the pandemic hit, competition came to a halt. Later, when restrictions eased, the focus of the team shifted from supporting the champions of today to nurturing the young champions of tomorrow. To this end, children’s training camps were launched in 2021 for budding young surfer boys and girls aged from 6 to 12 years.
Since 2019, YAGEO Surf has participated in a total of 18 local and international competitions in Taiwan, Indonesia and Australia. The surfers took home 40 trophies and medals in 11 competitions, across children’s, youth and adult categories.
