In the month of June, our colleagues at Avnet India sowed the seeds of friendship with students during school visits in Bangalore, and celebrated World Environment Day with friendly gatherings and gifts of plants.

Bangalore Colleagues Show They Care
27 like-minded colleagues from our Bangalore office paid a morning visit to the Government Higher Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore. Avnet’s Associate Director, Business Development, Ravindranath GP addressed around 200 children with the message that just as friends from Avnet had come to help them, they should do their best to reciprocate and help others when they grow up. All the children received gifts from their friends at Avnet.
The band of volunteers then proceeded to Sri Veerabhadra Swamy High School, Bangalore, where around 250 delighted students received gifts of books and lunch containers.
The day concluded with the volunteers sharing a meal before returning to work by bus, singing songs and sharing laughs along the way.
Special thanks to Divya Rajith, HR Manager, the Avnet Recreation Club and all the passionate Avnet volunteers who demonstrated just how much they care for the community.

An All-Green Day for All of Avnet India
On Friday June 10, all six offices of Avnet India celebrated World Environment Day with a green dress code, fun green activities including an online word puzzle quiz, and employee gatherings in the respective offices.

The gatherings were filled with fun and games, and on a more serious note, green pledges to ‘grow plants’, ‘go paperless', ‘conserve water' and more. Everyone enjoyed themselves at what was one of the first in-person events for many months. At the end of the gathering, all employees were presented with gifts of lush green plants in Avnet-branded pots.
