Avnet China Supports Art
with Heart

Earlier this year, Avnet continued its history of community engagement by sponsoring an online art exhibition in aid of Wuhan Linjie Children's Rehabilitation Center for autistic children.

Painting a Brighter Future

Since 2020, Avnet China has committed to a five-year partnership with Wuhan Linjie’s Rehabilitation Center to assist children with autism in the state. In the first year, donations of cash and medical supplies such as masks and sanitizers were raised and packed by employees to the children to ride through the beginning months of the pandemic.

Following last year’s successful inaugural charity art exhibition, the second exhibition adopted the theme of Hand in Hand – Painting a New Wuhan.

As part of its sponsorship commitment, Avnet China donated 70 sets of paint and painting tools for the young contestants, as well as a bundle of prizes including 10 toy train sets,15 toy airplanes, 20 toy cars and 340 stationery hampers.

The online event was a great success, with the 45 entries attracting 19,161 online votes and 54,828 visits. It culminated in a physical awards ceremony attended by the young artists and their parents, staff of Wuhan Linjie Children's Rehabilitation Center, and five Avnet staff.

With Abundant Love and Great Enthusiasm

“The staff of Avnet, the children, their parents and teachers, and many loving people devoted themselves to the public welfare activities with abundant love and great enthusiasm. HR team have been doing an excellent job to partner with Linjie on this meaningful project. I look forward to continuing this exhibition next year and in 2024. The best is yet to come.” said Grace Dong, Regional President, Avnet China and Hong Kong. She shared that Avnet will continue to support this worthy cause, and pointed out that volunteerism lifts the morale of all involved, both benefactors and beneficiaries.

“As a company with a great sense of social responsibility, Avnet hopes that more people will pay attention to children with autism. We call on more social forces to understand the special group of “angels” and give them more care and support. Special thanks to 592 Avnet China colleagues who made donation in 2020, which initiated this partnership.” said Welcome Wang, HR Director for China & Hong Kong.

Lily Mao, Senior Sales Manager Avnet China, said, “I am humbled to participate and help out in this meaningful event. We have so much to learn from these wonderful children and they gave me so much joy just by looking at the enthusiasm they have put into their artwork.”

Over the last three years, Avnet China has assisted over 700 autistic children, bringing warmth and laughter to them in difficult times during the pandemic. Kudos to our colleagues for their efforts in helping carve out a place for every child – and their diverse abilities – in an inclusive China.
