On July 1, our Singapore colleagues got to enjoy expert massages by visually impaired masseurs. It was a great way to relax while promoting an inclusive society and supporting a commendable cause.

Office Turns Sanctuary
The in-house massages were organized by the Human Resources department in association with the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH). They were made available to all interested employees between 10am and 4pm for either a foot reflexology massage or a head and shoulders massage.
For the employees, the exercise was a great way to loosen tight muscles, boost blood circulation and enjoy a few blissful moments of relaxation. For the masseurs, it was an excellent opportunity to practise their skills and earn some income.

“We are glad to have partnered with SAVH to bring this meaningful event to Avnet and our colleagues. This fundraiser was not a case of collecting one-off donations, but a case of empowering the visually impaired members of our community to sustainably support themselves with dignity and independence,” said Betsy Sin, Director, Human Resource Asia Pacific.
