To celebrate James's legacy, we took the opportunity to speak with him about his journey at Avnet.
My Avnet Journey …
I joined Avnet in 2006 after meeting Roy Vallee, the former Chairman, Rick Hamada, previously global president of Technology Solutions, and Phil, who was then the president of EM Americas. I was immediately impressed by their authenticity, approachability, and humility, even as they represented the highest levels of Avnet leadership; and was especially drawn to their genuine desire and passion to improve Avnet for all stakeholders.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of contributing to Avnet's growth in the APAC region. It's been incredibly rewarding to witness the organization's transformation from a company with just over USD1 billion in revenue in 2006 to a powerhouse with over USD10 billion today. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have played a role in this journey.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been developing our talent and fostering the capabilities that have enabled us to achieve such remarkable growth. By investing in our people, we've built a strong foundation for future success.

Leading Through Challenges: A Champion of Human Development
My passion for human development drives me to foster a supportive environment where talent can flourish. I believe that by investing in our people and empowering them to reach their full potential, we can create a thriving and innovative culture.
Throughout my time at Avnet, I've faced numerous challenges, but I've always approached them with resilience and determination. I've learned that change is inevitable, and embracing it is crucial for success. By fostering open communication, building trust, and demonstrating the long-term benefits of innovation, we've been able to overcome obstacles and drive progress to scale new heights together as a team!
As I prepare to embark on a new chapter in my life, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunities and experiences I've had at Avnet. My greatest joy has been witnessing the growth and development of our people. Their success is a testament to the positive impact we've made together, and I'm proud of the legacy we've built.
