Toru Nakahara, a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Avnet Japan, exemplifies the company's core values through his dedication and achievements. With a career spanning over two decades, Toru has played a pivotal role in driving Avnet's onsemi business in Japan.
Toru's journey began in 2003 when he joined Avnet. In 2009, he was appointed as the Avnet Japan branch manager in Singapore, where he gained invaluable experience working with colleagues in Avnet APAC region. This exposure broadened his horizons and enriched his understanding of the business outside of Japan.

Overcoming Challenges and Achieving Success:
Upon returning to Japan in 2013, Toru took on the role of Senior Product Manager, overseeing Avnet's onsemi business. The past decade has presented its share of challenges, but Toru's perseverance and strategic thinking have been instrumental in driving significant growth. A major customer transfer in 2024 resulted in a remarkable increase in revenue, reaching approximately 70 million JPY in the 2025 fiscal year.
The Power of Teamwork:
Toru firmly believes that all of Avnet's core values are essential for business success. However, he emphasizes the paramount importance of teamwork. By fostering strong collaborative relationships, he has been able to conduct business effectively and efficiently.

A Passion for Running:
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Toru is a dedicated runner. His daily routine includes a morning run for six days a week, covering an impressive 200 to 250 kilometers each month. Toru has completed five full marathons, with a personal best time of 3 hours and 50 minutes. He continues to train diligently with the goal of improving his performance.
While all of Toru's marathons have taken place in Japan, he dreams of participating in iconic races in major cities like Singapore, New York, and Paris. His unwavering spirit and commitment to excellence extend beyond the office, inspiring his colleagues and demonstrating the power of perseverance.
