It’s Official: All Around Asia, Avnet Is a Great Place to Work

In recent months, six of our branches around Asia received prestigious human resources (HR) awards, reinforcing our reputation as an employer of choice. Here’s a rundown.

Taiwan Is Tops

In August, our Taiwan branch made it to the elite ranks of “Best Companies to Work for in Asia” by HR Asia, an awards program organized by Business Media International (MBI). The prestigious annual event recognizes companies with a high level of employee engagement and a great workplace culture.

Recent developments that were no doubt integral to the great outcome were Hong Kong’s implementation of the robust wellness-focused “Thrive@AVNET” program and family-friendly “Flexi@Work” program. Both initiatives aim to help employees attain holistic physical, mental and emotional health, and an overall healthy work-life balance.

Cheers for China!

Avnet India is one of the “Best Workplaces in Electronics” – and we have the certificate to prove it!

In the same awards program, India was declared one of the “Best Workplaces in Electronics”, for inspiring trust in its employees, instilling pride and promoting camaraderie.

“People First”

These accolades confirm what most if not all of us already know – Avnet is an organization that truly puts its “People First”.

“Avnet’s “People First” principle is not just a corporate slogan, but a sincere commitment to looking after our greatest assets, our people,” said James Tan, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Asia Pacific and Japan. “After all, investing in our employees is ultimately investing in our own success.”

Prince Yun, President, Asia Pacific and Japan, commended James and the HR teams around Asia.

“I applaud James and all of our hardworking HR personnel around Asia on these outstanding results. In addition, I would like to thank our employees for the positive feedback they gave in the confidential surveys conducted by the awards’ organizers. These awards turn the tables on the usual scenario, where the performance of staff is reviewed by the employer, and effectively give the staff an opportunity to review the employer.”

Let’s join Prince and James in congratulating all of our HR colleagues around Asia on acing the leading awards shows in their field.
