Vietnam Colleagues Meet in the Middle (of Vietnam) |

In August, 26 colleagues from Avnet Vietnam’s two offices in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh gathered at a seaside resort in Quy Nhon, smack-bang in the middle of Vietnam, to meet, bond and share.

Spot-on Destination and Organization
The destination of Quy Nhon was chosen not only for its equal distance from Ha Noi in the north and Ho Chi Monh in the south, but also for its beautiful beaches. A relatively laid-back destination, it is filled with fresh air and freshly caught seafood.
In planning the team-building trip, each office took charge of a specific task. The Ha Noi team booked the hotel, while the Ho Chi Minh team booked flights. In fact, the whole trip was planned with military precision. The guys were in charge of planning activities and excursions – what to do and where to go, while the ladies were entrusted with possibly the most important task of all – deciding where to eat!
“Family Members” Finally Meet
The event felt like a reunion between distant relatives, bringing two “families” together. Though colleagues from the two offices often talk to each other, they had never before met in person.
Le Van Khai, who works in Sales at the Ha Noi office, said, “Since we focus on serving demand creation customers in Ha Noi, it was great to meet our Ho Chi Minh colleagues and learn from their experience in serving Entire Manufacturing Fulfillment (EMF) customers. We can learn a lot from each other.”
(NAME AND JOB TITLE OF SPOKESPERSON) greatly appreciated the time out to simply relax and unwind. “After all the pressures of the pandemic, this trip could not have come at a better time. Though the break from work was definitely welcome, I returned to the office feeling refreshed and ready to take on new challenges. I think the trip will probably boost my productivity in the long run.”
Though it was the first team-building trip of its kind, it certainly won’t be the last.
