Over 900 Gather at Avnet China’s Virtual Annual Dinner |

Early this year, more than 900 of our colleagues in China attended a virtual dinner to usher in the Lunar New Year. It was a show of great unity and cooperation, and a showcase of awesome talent.
Part-serious Business, A Whole Lot of Fun
Our colleagues in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and more than 20 other cities in China came together to usher in the Year of the Tiger together with Avnet’s regional leadership team – Regional President China and Hong Kong, Grace Dong, and VP Marketing and Communications APAC, Edward Tsaur.
The event commenced with a video starring our very own ‘celebrity’ President of Asia Pacific and Japan Prince Yun, during which he expressed his gratitude to all staff for their efforts over the past year and extended well wishes for the year ahead. In line with the theme of “Tigers and Tigers, Climbing the Peak,” he reviewed the efforts and gains of 2021 and rallied all present to embrace the challenges and opportunities of 2022.
Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, an exciting line-up of song, dance and a memorable musical ‘sitcom’ kept everyone glued to their screens. The entertainment was courtesy of our talented colleagues from various offices in China, who invested hours of their own time in rehearsing their very professional performances.
Honoring Our Colleagues
A highlight of the event was the presentation of Long-Service Awards to 158 of our colleagues. All recipients were applauded for their loyalty in having served Avnet for a period ranging from five to 25 years.
Honored by Key External Stakeholders
The numerous Supplier Recognition Awards bestowed on Avnet China were also shared with the audience. Valued partners including NXP, Macronix, TE, Yageo PHY, INFINEON, ST and GP singled out Avnet China for its contributions to the success of their respective companies in the past year.
In addition, the team in Avnet China was greatly humbled to be awarded “Best Social Enterprise in Greater China 2021” and “Best HR Team in Greater China 2021” by HRoot, a prestigious leading human resource media company in China.

Abundant Prizes, Red Packets and Posts
Of course, no annual Chinese New Year event would be complete without a lucky draw, and this one was no exception. Drawn in five rounds throughout the evening, the delighted winners took home generous cash prizes sponsored by the Company, local managers, directors and VPs. Finally, not wanting to leave anyone out, a riotous ‘Red Packet Rain’ showered blessings on all.
Grace Dong said, “This annual dinner is a well-deserved break from our busy schedules and a great opportunity to recognize and reward the fantastic team effort that has seen us perform strongly during an unpredictable year. I feel confident that, together, we can scale even greater heights in the Year of the Tiger, whatever it may bring.”
Over 1,200 real-time messages were posted during the live broadcast, testament to the enthusiastic participation of employees that was key to the success of the occasion. Congratulations to Avnet China on overcoming the challenges of the pandemic to stage an inclusive and extremely enjoyable event.
